There won't be much lake monster culture content the next few days, since I'm in the middle of finals week. I'm sitting here in a computer lab of a concrete building, pondering my existence rather than porking out a paper extrapolation of a Powerpoint presentation. Pleah!
So... I decided that if I was to be oppressed for one more week of college grind then I would pass on my oppression. The lowly target? NETSCAPE 4 USERS! That's right, if you're using Netscape 4, you are hereby banned from reading about lake monsters and the culture of lake monsters. The method? I found a javascript routine that bounces all Netscape users to this page when they access LMC.
Before you conclude that I'm in a grumpy mood, I should mention that the link that I send these browsers to explains the reasons for my... snobbery it would appear, until you read why web designers have for years been wishing away the problems caused by ancient Internet browsers.
While I was poking around the lonely corridors that are Javascript libraries, I found something that would actually be of even more use: now important images such as background textures are preloaded before being displayed. Small thing, but pages wont flicker dark to light quite so much in between links.
Anycase, cheers. Back to the papers. Promise I won't make this a techie blog.
