New York's Last Sunset
July 14, 2003
The day before flying west, I decided to hike Mt. Manfield to say goodbye to New York properly. This is facing west into the sunset. You can see narrow lake Champlain as it divides Vermont from New York. I grew up somewhere in those far-off hills. You should have seen how vividly this redorange sun lit up the trail back in patches of fiery light. Kate, art historian at large, confirmed that God was in good taste for this sunset.
